This festival features a competition in which the participants come from all over Southern Thailand, as well as from neighbouring countries; such as, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Brunei. There are contests to find the most beautiful cage and demonstrations of cage-making, displaying the local wisdom of Yala.

Highlight: The major highlights are the competition to find the dove with the most melodious and sweetest cooing sound and the red-whiskered bulbul singing competition.
