Hilton Pattaya today announced its latest exclusive South African wine dinner promotion at Flare restaurant. The promotion is held in partnership with the leading wine expert from Central Wine Cellar, Ross Edward Marks who was previously Head Sommelier of the Waldorf Astoria New York. At the night, he will host the 6-course dinner while presenting matched wines from the South African Anura winery.
Fleeing persecution in their homelands, Europeans first settled in Southern Africa in the 1680’s. They called themselves “Afrikaners” and found a land filled with both power and beauty. They carried with them the tastes of their home country and soon adapted this to the new produce and culture. In doing so, they discovered a unique cuisine that blended French, Dutch and German with the flavours of their surrounds. The first vines were planted soon after, more than 300 years ago.
Hilton’s Executive Sous Chef Shaun Venter, a native of Stellenbosch South Africa, will recreate the authentic taste of his homeland at Flare restaurant on Thursday 6th December 2012 from 7pm onwards.
