I've posted this in our Facebook wall here - https://www.facebook.com/DiscoveryThailand - but I think we should have a topic about this issue in our forum.

FLOOD SITUATION IN THAILAND - OCT 26, 2011
Major tourist attractions (Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, Pattaya, Phuket, Krabi, Hua Hin, etc.) are NOT effected.

The areas in effected are the provinces in central Thailand such as Nakornsawan and Ayutthaya. Unfortunately, Bangkok is in the effected area.

Advice for tourists: if you're travelling direct flights to the north (Chaing Mai) or to the south (Phuket, Samui, etc.), you're fine. But if your flights are coming to Bangkok in the next few days, please visit the city with caution. It could be the time that the flood hit the city of Bangkok.

As of today, only the northern part and western part of Bangkok are effected.

FLOOD SITUATION IN THAILAND - NOV 20, 2011
The flood has stopped at the northern area pf Bangkok. Some flood areas has now recovered. Ladpraow and Ratchadapisek roads are now recovered from the flood.

Tourist areas are not effected. Thailand is entering Winter season in December. No more water adding to the flood areas. We expected more areas will be recovered from flood and hopefully everything goes back to normal fully before new year.

I read in a blog about Flood in Thailand. From July 2011 to January 2012, Thailand encountered the worst flooding in five decades. The floods killed over 800 people and left millions homeless or displaced. Over three quarters of Thailand’s provinces were declared flood disaster zones, and the World Bank estimated that the economic loss exceeded $45 billion. Thailand’s government was unprepared for the longevity and severity of the floods, and many communities felt that the Flood Response Operation Center (FROC), which was established to coordinate emergency response and provide regular communications to the public, was inadequate.

It was a horrible situation at that time. It was a nature's curse to the people of Thailand. The flood has effected the northern and central Thailand. It had taken 815 lives and 3 people missing due to it. There were 13.6 million people affected with it.
