I've posted this in our Facebook wall here - https://www.facebook.com/DiscoveryThailand - but I think we should have a topic about this issue in our forum.
FLOOD SITUATION IN THAILAND - OCT 26, 2011
Major tourist attractions (Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, Pattaya, Phuket, Krabi, Hua Hin, etc.) are NOT effected.
The areas in effected are the provinces in central Thailand such as Nakornsawan and Ayutthaya. Unfortunately, Bangkok is in the effected area.
Advice for tourists: if you're travelling direct flights to the north (Chaing Mai) or to the south (Phuket, Samui, etc.), you're fine. But if your flights are coming to Bangkok in the next few days, please visit the city with caution. It could be the time that the flood hit the city of Bangkok.
As of today, only the northern part and western part of Bangkok are effected.
