If you are traveling alone, no matter what country you are in, you should follow the same safety precautions you would at home.
Don’t go out alone in areas you are unfamiliar with. Be aware of the people around you. Don’t make it obvious that you are a visitor or tourist. Limit your alcohol.
This kind of common sense need not apply to night outings only.
Have you traveled solo? What are the other tips and advice do you have for those traveling alone?

Travelling solo does not mean you have to be alone. It can be perfectly fine
and safe. There are many local Thais who in couchsurfing kind of way
are happy to be your thai guide. I've found many nice and very welcoming
people in Thailand and they are just as interested to hear about where
you're from as you are interested to learn about Thailand.
So when you plan the locations you would like to visit and find
some locals so you'll feel both a tourist and at home.

Whenever you travel overseas or to another country you should take every precaution possible. Never carry actual money, you could either use traveler's checks or a major credit card. Find out where the high crime areas might be, and avoid them! Of course, you can get mugged anywhere, but this will minimize those chances. Look into getting some sort of international health insurance. You never know what might unexpectedly happen that could cause your trip to change. If you need to change your travel, you will be covered. Or, if you happen to get sick or injured, you are protected. Other than that...enjoy the sights and have fun.

One thing you should know is that you can never too sure about anything. Be very vigilant of your surroundings. Don't trust anyone. Keep your things under lock and key under all circumstances. If you notice a person stalking you don't let him find your staying place. Try to mingle in with the people and try not to make it obvious that you are a visitor.

Hi All,
When you travelling alone , make sure the luggage which you carry is always on your control and have an eye on that. It doesn't mean that you should always open your bag and check whether things are there or not. If you do that someone will notice that and when you are little away from your luggage, they will try to steal it. Always better do not take any food or drinks from strangers while travelling especially in flight or train.

Hi All,
When you travel alone make sure that your luggage which you carry is on your control. Always do not keep check with your bag like opening it and make things visible to others. Don't ever accept food or drinks from strangers especially in train or flight.
I also think that you should be careful when you go out alone at night. I think thailand is pretty safe otherwise but nevertheless it is probably wiser to not go out alone.
I think if you are worried about your money getting stolen you should probably not keep all your money in one place. I mostly only have a little bit of change in my wallet and distribute the rest in pockets or side pockets of my handbag.

Hello, If you feel uncomfortable while you are alone, you're probably right. Extricate yourself from a bad situation rather than waiting it out until it gets better. Goodluck!

Trust Everyone and No One
One of the best motivations to head out alone is to meet new individuals, however this additionally makes you more powerless. It's alright to hang out, travel and impart to new companions, yet you may not have any desire to request that they hold your cash. Trick specialists can frequently be the most beguiling partners you'll discover; you need to be liberal, however keep your gatekeeper up enough to guarantee your well being.

Thanks for these travel safety tips Mssmil, i use to follow one safety tip which works in every region. Most countries require the foreign tourists covered up with insurance before they enter the country. However, insurance during travel is a critical issue due to legal differences between two countries.

Your information is massive. I like solo traveling, but it would be better if you will plan your tour with someone or travel with a tourists group. I am sharing some safety rules which are useful for all the tourists. When you leave from your house then make all the copies of important documents. Many companies provided a guideline about travel safety. The Clever Travel Companion offers nice collections of clothes with hidden pockets. I heard about it through my cousin, while he used some during his tour.
