The main beach is Hua Hin runs from near the Sofitel and Hilton areas all the way to Khao Takiab, several kilometers long, wide and sandy, near town it can be busy especially at weekends and near the Hilton and Sofitel some rocks in the sea. The best part of the beach is towards Khao Takiab aroubnd the Hyatt regency area and beyond. if you come to Khao Takiab the Golden Buddha looks out across the Gulf, climb the steps to the top of the temple area for amazing views. Now if you actually go past Khao Takiab just around the corner is Khao Takiab Bay, this comes as a surprise, a very long and wide beach with gentle waves and clear water, nice casurina and palm trees, a few places with sunshades and beach loungers, relaxed and easy going vendors. There are a few hotels like the Bluewave and Antanasilla plus quite a few guesthouses, holiday homes and budget accommodation. A local Sonthaew service goes to and from Hua hin market every 10 minutes or so for under 10 Baht. This I think is by far the nicest beach area of Hua hin, you can see small offshore islands and even take boat trips there and do some fishing. You can Elephant Ride, horse riding also, it's close enough to the town centre but is very quiet and peaceful and a great place to stay quiet near the beach but still have local shops and some of the best restaurants in the area, notably Rua Rimtarn and la mer, both famous for seafood. Madame Greens famous seafood restaurant is in Khao Takiab Village.
