Since Thailand has faced the issue of flooding which affect the livelihood of Thai people, this will also affect economic growth. Especially, the impact on the image of Thailand that caused the number of foreign tourist decreased in this period of time.
In order to bring back the confidence of tourists to travel in Thailand again and to create a friendly image, the promotion of the attractions that full of culture, beautiful and meaningful together with the growth in our marketing activities with the use of Social Networking, Tourism Authority of Thailand has recognized the importance of the activities offered with the charm of Thai through online activities. Create a mini site of The Charms of Thailand and Page Facebook to create a trend of foreign tourists to visit in Thailand in late 2011, the year of the auspicious celebration of the age after 84 years of His Majesty the King. It is consistent with the policies in the development of information technology for tourism (e-Tourism) to be even more popular.
Activities entitled The Charms of Thailand with Thai charm that is known worldwide as Wai, Yim Siam, Thai Dancing and Pup-pieb which will allow people both Thais and foreigners can join by sending a video clip that shows the charm of Thailand in 4 categories which are Wai, Yim Siam, Thai Dancing and Pup-pieb. Those who are interested can register and upload clips from the website www.TourismThailand.org/TheCharmsOfThailand. The period to submit is during the December 15, 2011 through March 14, 2012 at 23:59 o'clock, then from January 15, 2012 through March 14, 2012 at 23:59 o'clock will be open to people who have registered to vote, choose a clip that fits the most to determine the winner. The work will also win a lot of fun. There are three types of awards which are 4 prizes for foreign tourists 4 for Thai tourists and 4 for voters.
Tourism Authority of Thailand hopes that the project reflects The Charms of Thailand will reflect the readiness to welcome tourists and create the confidence in their decision to travel to Thailand.
