My friend suggested me to pay respect to Erawan shine. I went there and was surprised to see Thai Classical dance there. I saw someone paid money to them and they performed the dance in there. Could you please tell me why Thai dance were there?

Some thai people believes they can bribe the God to make their wish come true. The thai dance in front of Erawan is kind of the tribute to God when they got what they want, and that is the bribe people need to pay in return.

Is there any protocal or dress code for respecting Erawan shine? I mean can we wear shorts there? What time does it close?

I always find it fascinating. It never stops! There's something going on there ALL of the time... That is itself makes it well worth a visit. It's close to some pretty cool shopping so nothing is lost be venturing down there.
